No specific planning or documentation needs to be prepared ahead of the observation.

The plans for the session will be drawn up by the apprentice before the assessment planning meeting, to ensure as many of the knowledge skills and behaviours mapped to this assessment method can be covered. The planning process does form part of the assessment; the independent assessor must review the session plan before the assessment and ask questions about the planning process in the questioning element.
