General
How long should the work-based project for the Learning and Development Practitioner standard be and how much time does the apprentice have to complete it?
For this component of the assessment, the apprentice is required to complete a project in which they develop and implement a solution to a real business problem and submit a 2250-word (+/-10%) executive summary-style report.
The apprentice will submit a work-based project scope at the gateway. At the apprentice’s assessment planning meeting, the End-Point Assessor will confirm whether the scope of the project encompasses all the knowledge, skills and behaviours assessed. If the apprentice’s scope is not approved, they will have one week to resubmit.
Once the scope has been approved, the apprentice will have four months to complete the project and write the report.
Within two weeks of the project submission date, the apprentice and End-Point Assessor will participate in a professional discussion. The discussion will be based on the project and will last 60 minutes (+/-10% at the Assessor's discretion). The End-Point Assessor will ask the apprentice 8-10 open questions.
