What is a reasonable adjustment?

Quite simply, a reasonable adjustment is any action taken by TQUK, a recognised centre or a training provider that helps reduce the effect of a long-term disability or difficulty which places the learner or apprentice at a disadvantage in an assessment situation.

What’s considered reasonable depends on the individual needs of the learner or apprentice, cost implications and the practicality and effectiveness of the adjustment.

Reasonable adjustments are different to special considerations. A special consideration can only be made for temporary issues, such as ill health or injury suffered on the day of or just before an assessment.

It’s important to understand both terms in detail, so please read our Reasonable Adjustments and Special Considerations policy for more information.
