Why does the TQUK maths Functional Skills assessment only have one paper and not two?
Whilst the content that needs to be assessed by the Functional Skills qualifications is set centrally by the Department for Education, each exam board that offers them is afforded some flexibility in how they structure their assessments. We have chosen to assess all of the maths content in one paper, split into two sections, as opposed to AQA's approach of two separate papers sat on the same day.Rest assured, the content within the assessment does not change: our paper structure has been through rigorous independent technical evaluation to confirm that it is fit for purpose and meets the DfE shared content requirements.
Find out more about switching your Functional Skills from AQA to TQUK here, or explore our offering in more depth by visiting our dedicated Functional Skills FAQs section.
