How do I apply for a reasonable adjustment or special consideration for my learners/apprentices?
To help us deal with your request as efficiently as possible, please include all the necessary information, including:
- The learner/apprentice's name,
- Your TQUK registration number (if you're a recognised centre),
- The affected assessment(s),
- The nature of and rationale for the request, and
- Any additional supporting evidence.
Typically, you’ll need to fill out a new form for each learner or apprentice, unless a single issue has affected a cohort of learners or apprentices. In that scenario, a single form can be submitted alongside a list naming all the affected individuals.
We need to make sure that all reasonable adjustments and special considerations are being taken for valid reasons, which is why we ask for evidence to support these requests.
Centres/training providers must take responsibility for providing this and should decide which evidence most clearly shows that the learner/apprentice's needs are valid. Evidence can include:
- An assessment of the learner/apprentice’s needs in relation to the relevant assessment;
- A history of provision within the centre/training provider;
- Written evidence produced by independent, authoritative specialists.
It’s important both for you and your learners or apprentices to understand both terms in detail, so please read our Reasonable Adjustments and Special Considerations policy for more information.
