Where does the observation for the Learning Mentor standard take place and who is involved?

The observation must take place at the apprentice's normal place of work or remotely if this is the apprentice's normal practice. It will involve learners who will be taking part in a genuine mentoring session, not role-playing. It will usually be a one-to-one session, but group mentoring may also be observed; other learners will not be present during these observations.
