Competence Interview

Where does the competence interview for the Children, Young People and Families Manager standard take place and who is involved?

The competence interview can be conducted face-to-face or remotely, via online means. Face-to-face assessments typically take place at the employer’s or training provider's premises, and the End-Point Assessor is in the room to invigilate. Microsoft Teams is used for this assessment component, so apprentices should ensure they have downloaded this software and are familiar with how it works. A date and a time for the competence interview component will be agreed between the apprentice and the End-Point Assessor during the planning meeting and following the planning meeting. If the assessment is being conducted remotely the End-Point Assessor will send out a Teams link ready for the assessment. The competence interview is recorded in full for further reference.
