Observation

What should the apprentice prepare ahead of the practical observation for the Advanced and Creative Hair Professional standard?

Before the assessment, the apprentice should have created a collection of looks. This should include the precision cut that will be created in the observation.

Post-gateway and before the observation, the apprentice must have carried out an in-depth consultation and complex analysis of the client’s hair and scalp and carried out relevant tests. Evidence for this should be provided to the End Point Assessor.

It is recommended that the apprentice plan their schedule for the day and give a copy of this to the independent assessor on arrival.

Apprentices should also check that all products, tools, and equipment that are required are available for the assessment.

There must be someone other than the apprentice present for the practical observation, for safeguarding reasons
