# What happens if we book a Functional Skills exam for a certain time and date, and the learner is ready before the test date, can the learner access the exam prior to the date it was booked for?

Online exams are accessible as soon as they are booked, as the date and time set are only provisional. The exams are available for two years and can be started at any time but cannot be restarted once an attempt has begun.
