What happens if the apprentice fails the summative portfolio in the Digital Marketer standard and needs to resit or retake it?
If an apprentice fails their end-point assessment (EPA), they will have the option to resit or retake it. If they choose to retake it, they will be required to undergo additional learning, which will be discussed with their employer, training provider, and Training Qualifications UK (TQUK) to ensure that the best decision is made regarding the amount of learning needed. Therefore, the timescales for retakes will be determined by the employer, training provider, and TQUK, as they depend on the amount of re-learning required.
When an apprentice has to resit or retake their EPA, they can use their original summative portfolio of evidence and employer reference, but they will need to create a new synoptic project in coordination with their training provider. This is because the End-Point Assessor will need the new synoptic project, along with the portfolio or evidence and employer reference, to prepare interview questions.
There is no limit on the grade an apprentice can achieve in a resit or retake, but they are not allowed to resit/retake in an attempt to move from a pass to a distinction.
