Gateway

What are the gateway requirements for the Lead Adult Care Worker apprenticeship standard?

The gateway process will only commence after a minimum of 12 months from the start of the apprenticeship programme. Entering gateway depends on the employer and training provider confirming that the apprentice has developed all knowledge, skills and behaviours defined by the assessment plan.

Gateway requirements are as follows:

• Photographic ID.

• TQUK Mapping and Tracking Form.

• Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care.

• Level 2 in English and maths.

• Completed the 15 standards as set out in the Care Certificate.

• Undertake a self-assessment in the last month of their apprenticeship to enable them to see whether they are confident that they have taken on board all aspects of the occupation. This self-assessment must be submitted to the independent end point assessor as a source of

evidence to prepare for the professional discussion.

In the last three months of the apprenticeship, following the completion of the diploma, you will need to collate testimonies from people who use services. These must be submitted to the End-Point Assessor to support the professional discussion assessment.
