Gateway

What are the gateway requirements for the Adult Care Worker standard?

The gateway process will only commence after a minimum of 12 months from the start of the apprenticeship programme. Entering gateway depends on the employer and training provider confirming that the apprentice has developed all knowledge, skills and behaviours defined by the assessment plan.

Gateway requirements are as follows:

• The Level 2 Diploma in Care.

• The Care Certificate.

• Level 1 in English and maths.

• A self-assessment in the last month of their apprenticeship to enable them to see whether they are confident that they have taken on board all aspects of the occupation.

• Photographic ID.

• DBS certificate.

In the last three months of the apprenticeship, following the completion of the diploma, you will need to collate testimonies from people who use services. These must be submitted to the End-Point Assessor to support the professional discussion assessment.
