How can I check if a qualification is regulated?

There are two quick ways to check if a qualification has been regulated:

  • Check the Register of Regulated Qualifications. This official register lists all qualifications regulated in England and Northern Ireland. You can search by keyword, full title, or Qualification Number (QN), and use filters to narrow results. Each entry shows whether the qualification is regulated by Ofqual (England) and/or CCEA (Northern Ireland).
  • Use the ‘Regulated Qualifications’ search on our website. This section only contains our regulated qualifications and links directly to their Qualification Specifications. You can search by keyword, full title, or QN, with filters available to refine your results.

If you already have a TQUK certificate, look for the Ofqual logo. If it’s there, the qualification is regulated. If not, it may be one of our endorsed (non-regulated) qualifications.
