General
How long does the observation and professional dialogue for the Learning and Skills Teacher standard last?
As part of the observations, the End-Point Assessor will visit the apprentice’s normal workplace to observe a teaching session.
The observation will last 60 minutes, which may include set up of the learning environment and time post lesson to include student and staff interaction, in addition to observation of the lesson.
Following the observed session, a 45-minute professional dialogue about the observed session will be conducted. A 10% variance is permitted at the End-Point Assessor’s discretion to allow the apprentice to finish their final answer or point. No new questions will be asked after the time limit has been reached.
The total time for this assessment method is 1 hour 45 minutes. This does not include the time taken for a break between the lesson observation and professional dialogue.
